Never buy this again

By

from Globe, AZ

Comments about Horizon Organic Dairy Heavy Whipping Cream:

I grew up on a farm drinking fresh milk, eating butter churned from that milk, and using the resulting cream in coffees and in baking. As an adult, I can not find any source of wholesome real cream or butter. The "real butter" on the shelves is mostly vegatable oil or some other oil. Now I realize that your cream is an inferior product that needs additives to even resemble the product it is supposed to be. . .real cream. I am so disappointed not just in your company, but in all our American companies that daily panhandle goods to its citizens that are not healthy, not the real product, and not honestly come by. I am tired of it. Quit it!

What is the butter fat content?

By

from Fulerton, CA

Comments about Horizon Organic Dairy Heavy Whipping Cream:

Does not work in whipped cream dispensers that use nitrous oxide. Butter fat is soluble in nitrous but apparently gellan gum is not. Comes out slimy.

Carbs

Comments about Horizon Organic Dairy Heavy Whipping Cream:

Bought this at costo and returned it the next day. I didn't think I'd have to check the ingredients in HWC. This stuff is trash. It's essentials milk with gellan gum to give it the consistency of real HWC.

Gellan Gum - Yuck

By

from High Falls, NY

Comments about Horizon Organic Dairy Heavy Whipping Cream:

Gellan gum is a thickener that is used to cover up a lower fat content. I.e. more milk less cream in this heavy whipping cream. As a person with an allergy to milk proteins (casein and whey), I cannot drink milk but I can have high fat dairy products like ghee and heavy cream (which I use in coffee). Last week I bought Horizon heavy cream and it gave me an allergic reaction. Checking the box confirmed my suspicion that there were additives.
