Science Horizons delivered the TXAR array to Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 1993 and upgraded the site in 2000. Upon Science Horizons' request, SMU promptly and graciously provided Science Horizons with the Gulf of Mexico earthquake data recorded by the AQUINAS System at TXAR.
Shown below are the locations of the AQUINAS System at TXAR, the PAS at Melbourne, FL, and the epicenter of the earthquake in the Gulf of Mexico. Note that TXAR is 1711 km from the earthquake's epicenter, almost 2.8 times the distance of the Melbourne site from the epicenter.

The TXAR seismic array is located outside of Lajitas, TX, near the US/Mexico border, almost due west of San Antonio. Shown below are the locations of the AQUINAS System sites that comprise the TXAR array:

Each site in a Science Horizons' array contains a Downhole Field Station, as shown here. The field station consists of a seismometer, digitizer, authenticator (optional), modem, GPS receiver, power source, and cables. The seismometer, digitizer, and authenticator fit in a 4-inch borehole.

Shown below is the Gulf of Mexico earthquake data as recorded by each site in the TXAR array. The arrival times of the P- and S-waves at TXAR are consistent with those at Melbourne; however, no precursor could be detected from a visual inspection of the TXAR data.
