At remote sites, the conversion of analog to digital data, the real-time preprocessing of the data, and the transmission of that data to the local data center is performed by the AQUINAS Digital Field Station (ADFS).
Data-center support is provided by AQUINAS Local Command and Control (ALCC) software. This Data Collection Center (DCC) software includes data display, data verification, real-time, near real-time, an interactive data processing, data archiving, open station access for remote users, and the automatic transmission of selected data sets to various data centers.
Data flow through the AQUINAS environment is illustrated in the above diagram. In this system, individual elements can be translocated, enabling a high degree of customization. In addition, elements of the system can operate as stand-alone systems, or elements can be combined. For example, the AQUINAS Digital Field Station can be integrated in an array capacity.
External to the system, but integrated with it, are the Data Centers such as the National Data Center (NDC), and individual Users, as shown on the AQUINAS Dataflow Diagram.
The Portable AQUINAS System (PAS) replaces the top three blocks in
the above dataflow diagram. Specifically, the TL replaces the ADFS;
the CL replaces the CIM3; and the SPL replaces the Station Processor.
